Brush & Hammer Renovations is dedicated to transforming our customers’ houses into homes with a commitment to exceptional quality, effective communication, and unwavering reliability. Our team ensures timely project completion within budget. We offer a range of services from entire home remodels, complete additions, to smaller home projects and repairs. The remodeling services we provide include bathrooms, kitchens, basement finishing, decks, garages, additions and general home makeovers. Painting services we offer include exterior home repairs and painting, interior painting, staining, cabinet refinishing, and fine finish enameling. We also are happy to help with smaller scale projects that require skilled trades people.

Chris Koehnen

Owner

With 25 years of experience working in the trades and managing home service teams, founder and owner Chris Koehnen, has the passion and the know-how to deliver exceptional results. Chris’s father and grandfather both owned successful businesses in the trades. Having been around job sites as a child and seeing amazing transformations, he always knew this was his path as well. Throughout college, Chris spent summers and breaks working as a painter and on construction projects for his dad. A few years after graduating college, Chris began and successfully owned a home improvement and painting company for 5 years. For the next 15 years, Chris worked for 2 local service companies as a General Manager where he learned invaluable experience in customer service, team leadership and business management. Chris’s joy for the trades never left him though and throughout his years as a GM, always had a tool in his hands including completely transforming his home and helping others do the same. In 2021, Chris started Brush & Hammer Renovations and remains intimately connected to each project.

Kris Klick

Owner

After many years of leading sales teams and developing robust client relationships as a Sales Manager, Kris decided to embark on a new chapter—one rooted in hands-on work and his enduring passion for building his own company. Although Kris spent much of his career in sales, he has always maintained a strong connection to the home services industry. His experience includes working in landscaping, serving as a foreman for a property maintenance company, along with doing most of the work on his own properties, including constructing a sizable garage with living quarters above it. Kris possesses keen attention to detail and takes great pleasure in assisting customers with the design aspects of their projects. He is frequently seen inspecting job sites to ensure every detail meets the highest standards. In late 2024, Kris collaborated with his close friend Chris Koehnen to contribute to the growth of B&H.

Chris and Kris collectively bring comprehensive business acumen and practical expertise to each project they undertake. Whether it is updating a kitchen, finishing a basement, or revitalizing a space, they are committed to executing the work with precision and integrity. They have established the company on fundamental values of trust, craftsmanship, and a unified vision for excellence.

Brush & Hammer Renovations also employs a highly skilled team of tradespeople and exclusively collaborates with subcontractors who share our core values. Prior to initiating any project, we engage with our clients to fully understand their vision and assist in developing an optimal scope of work along with clear timelines.
